Class Evaluation

Class Evaluation   Some things i like about this class is the statements or quotes we learn. The Student Success Statements are very inspiring and they teach me things i didn't know. For example, quotes like, " If you do bad, you feel bad, if you do good you feel good". Quotes like that inspire me not o do bad. I also love the videos we watch because they are very interesting. In some videos, we learn how doing the wrong is bad so that tells us to do the right. Some things i did not like about this class is doing the same thing. Not that i am complaining but doing the same thing gets kind of boring. I love researching but we do the same process. Some Recommendations for this class is maybe change things up a little a bit once in a while. Also to give more time for free play so we can have fun playing games. Lastly playing music throughout the whole which is very concentrating for me. The highlight for me in this

Langston Hughes        I chose Langston Hughes because i really love his poems that are mostly based on black culture. He fought for African Americans rights and for them to dream again.       Langston Hughes was an African American poet. He was born on February 1, 1902. His parents separated when he was a young kid. From then on he lived with his grandmother who told him many stories of the past which encouraged to have in interest in black culture. He wrote his first poem at the age of 17 while crossing the Mississippi River on the way to see his dad. His father didn't support him in this career because he wanted him to be an engineer. No support from his father didn't stop him from writing more poems. He later then enrolled in Columbia University and dropped out to work. Years later he enrolled in Lincoln University. Langston Hughes wrote many amazing poems but out of all, my favorite w

Student Success Statement        " Take responsibility for your own body, mind and spirit, for your own physical, mental, and spiritual well being."                   Mr. C  Haymore Reflection: Mr. C is totally correct. You need to take responsibility for your body mind and spirit. You cant control what comes in your mind, but you can decide if you want it out. If you accomplish to take responsibilities for your actions than you have achieved your goal. This is very important because your body mind and spirit is what builds you.

Quit smoking

Effects of Smoking How does smoking harm you? Your lungs can be damaged if you smoke. At first you start with coughing and then too having asthma. Later on, smoking can cause you to get lung cancer which can lead to death.  Smoking can also lead to getting in trouble and going to jail.                                                  Promoting non - smoking: To promote non smoking, you can talk to the smokers and ask them questions like why they smoke because many people smoke for different reasons. Maybe put up fliers and show how smoking affects you and what it does to you. Challenge: I doubt i will be a smoker but i'm not going to promise not to do it because what if one day i get influenced on doing it but i doubt it

Student Success Statement       "Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education"                                          Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Reflection: I also believe we need more than intelligence to achieve the goal of true education. We all need to have the best character possible.. We need to be caring and loving like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was a great man who started the american dream. He stood up for African american rights and believed that we should all dream. Martin Luther had a great character since he was very caring to African Americans. He was also a very smart man and with his amazing character, everyone loved him. That is why you not only need intelligence. A person can be smart but they

Student Success Statement            " We need the courage to Start and Continue what we should do, and the courage to Stop what we shouldn't do."                             Richard L. Evans Reflection: I can't agree more with Richard L. Evans, he is totally right. We all need to start on what we should do like going to college and we need to keep going so we can succeed. If you are doing bad for example, selling drugs or stealing things, than you should stop that. You need to focus on the things you have to do and the things you should do. Everyone should be doing the right things. If you are you need to continue doing the right so you can be a great person. If you are being bad in life, you need to realize it and have the courage to stop doing it and start doing what you should do which is choosing the right. Doing right things makes you happy.

Student Success Statement                     " When you tell one lie, it leads to another"                           Paul Hatch Reflection: I agree totally with Paul Hatch. You should never tell a lie no matter what because that is dishonesty. Once a person lies, its obvious that they are going to do it again. Maybe lying will get you out of trouble but you always have to be honest. Once you tell a lie you have to make up another lie to back it up and its just lies and lies and lies. You should always be a CTR person because if you lie, you are being a CTW person and that's not good. You always have to tell the truth no matter what circumstance. Lying leads to more lies and no one will ever believe you if you are always lying. That is why you need to be honest.
